Job summary

Cygnet in Southampton is seeking a Part-Time Support Worker to join Oakhurst Lodge, a residential service for adults with autism and learning disabilities. You will work a 20-hour contract across a 7-day rota, with day shifts starting early and finishing by evening.

You will support residents with dignity and independence, build positive relationships with families and colleagues, and participate in community activities.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting adults with Autism and/or Learning Disabilities.
• Understanding of behaviours that may challenge.
• Caring and compassionate attitude with desire to help others.
• Strong communication skills and ability to build relationships with residents and families.
• Team-focused approach and collaboration within a supportive environment.
• Flexibility for community activities and meaningful experiences.
• Commitment to independence, dignity and wellbeing of residents.

Responsibilities

• Support adults with autism and learning disabilities in a residential setting.
• Participate in a 7-day rota and handover shifts.
• Assist residents with daily activities and social engagement.
• Maintain safety, dignity and wellbeing for people we support.
