Job summary

Cygnet Group is hiring a Support Worker (Learning Disabilities) at Oakhurst Lodge in the UK. You will support adults with autism and learning disabilities to live independently and engage in daily activities, with a focus on wellbeing and person-centred care.

This 20-hour permanent contract offers 12-hour, 10-hour, or 8-hour day shifts across a 7-day rota, with full training provided, paid breaks, and access to staff benefits. DBS check required.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting adults with Autism and/or Learning Disabilities or working within a care setting.
• An understanding of behaviours that may challenge, and a positive, proactive approach to support
• A caring, compassionate, and enthusiastic attitude with a genuine desire to help others succeed
• Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with residents, families, and colleagues
• A team-focused approach, with the ability to work collaboratively in a supportive environment
• Flexibility and enthusiasm for supporting a variety of community activities, social events, and meaningful experiences
• A commitment to promoting independence, choice, dignity, and wellbeing for the people we support

Responsibilities

Oakhurst Lodge is an 8-placement specialist residential service for adults with autism and learning disabilities who may present with behaviours that challenge. We aim to provide a safe, comfortable and effective care environment for those in our care, promoting independence and community integration.
