Job summary

Zoe in Redhill is seeking experienced part-time night staff to provide overnight support in our supported housing services. The role is 22 hours per week with night shifts and on-call bank staff, offering a salary of £14.49 per hour with pro-rata holiday entitlement.

As part of the Housing team, you will deliver trauma-informed support, ensure safety and respond to emergencies, while upholding high standards of service delivery and safeguarding practices.

Qualifications

  • Housing Level 2 Qualification or Equivalent.
  • Strong knowledge of housing legislation and safeguarding practices.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Experience in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with other agencies.

Responsibilities

  • Provide overnight support, safety monitoring and responsive care to residents.
  • Respond to emergencies and maintain high standards of service delivery.
  • Induct new residents into the accommodation and ensure licence terms are understood.
  • Comply with fire safety and evacuation procedures and participate in on-call processes.

Job description

New opportunities are available for experienced permanent Part-time Supported Housing Night Staff for this well established, independent charity based in Redhill.

Competitive salary, future prospects and great benefits, 22 hr. week**, Pro-rata 6.6 weeks hols, (increases with service), free gym and discounted childcare.

22 hours a week

  • Monday – 9pm -8am
  • Tuesday – 7pm – 8am
  • Plus, additional bank staff shift available
  • Salary: £14.49 h.

Department introduction

The Housing team at Redhill offers safe, supported and affordable housing to 44 young people, four semi – independent move on properties offering accommodation for a further 31 young people and Next Step which is a Private Rented Sector Housing Scheme working closely with Reigate and Banstead Borough Council and Tandridge District Council for those with a housing need.

Job Purpose

Provide overnight support, safety monitoring, and responsive support to residents, ensuring a secure and comfortable living environment, responding to emergencies and maintain high standards of service delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  1. To provide trauma informed support to service users, including restorative practices to the supported individuals.
  2. To support a culture of collaboration, so that staff work together within the directorate and across the wider association
  3. To ensure a provision of high-quality services to service users in line with the organisational ethos and objectives.
  1. To support and contribute to the resourcing of interventions for residents in crisis situations, and/or manage physical risk or behaviour likely to cause incidents, in accordance with the individuals personal developmental support plan, risk management plan and service protocols.
  2. To induct new residents into the accommodation, ensuring the terms of the licence agreement is understood and all health and safety issues fully explained.
  3. To comply with fire safety and evacuation procedures.
  4. To respond to emergency situations that arise in all supported accommodation properties and understand the on-call process.
  5. To ensure the reception area is covered during the working shift and take any incoming calls and communications.

Key Working Relationships

  1. Work with external agencies such as local authorities, and internal departments to ensure Housing operations compliance.
  2. Represent us in multi-agency meetings and case conferences.
  1. To safeguard children and adults at risk of harm, in accordance with local and national guidelines and procedures., Undertaking best practice, and conducting our legal and moral duties to respond to related concerns, disclosures, or allegations appropriately.
  2. Attend night team meetings, achieve goals, targets, and actions within a trimly manner.

Person Specification

  • Housing Level 2 Qualification or Equivalent
  • Strong knowledge of housing legislation and safeguarding practices.
  • Excellent communication, and organisational skills.
  • Experience of establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with other agencies and professions
  • Ability to work independently and manage crisis situations.
  • Ability to collaborate with staff and managers and to continuously improve.
