Job summary

Twynham Learning is seeking two part-time Student Welfare Assistants to join our busy welfare team at Poole High School. Morning or afternoon shifts available, 25 or 30 hours per week, with term-time only scheduling.

The role involves providing first aid, managing student medications with guardian approval, and maintaining electronic records, while promoting student welfare in line with safeguarding policies.

Qualifications

• Have a first aid qualification (or be willing and able to complete a course upon joining).
• General IT skills with experience of Arbor or similar management information system.

Responsibilities

• Treat students/staff with first aid care when required, sending people home or to hospital when necessary within the guidelines of First Aid at Work.
• Issue prescribed medication or general over-the-counter medication only with the authorisation of the parent or legal guardian.
• Record details of all treatment or care provided to students in their electronic records and the daybook.
• Notify parents of student medical conditions/accidents in school as necessary.
• Promote and safeguard the welfare of children and young people in accordance with safeguarding policies.
