Nova Training in Oldbury invites applications for a part-time Teaching Assistant role working with students with special educational needs. The position is 28 hours per week, permanent, with salary at NMW pro rata.

You will support the class teacher with lesson delivery, manage resources, and monitor learner progress. Options to engage in outdoor activities and trips are possible; you will liaise with tutors, parents, and caregivers, and contribute to a safe, inclusive learning environment

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year’s experience as a Teaching Assistant in an education setting.
• Relevant qualification/training in Special Education.
• Experience with learners who have an EHCP is beneficial.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to plan and assess, be creative and proactive.
• Strong subject knowledge within English and Maths.

Responsabilités

• Support the class teacher in the preparation and delivery of lessons/interventions.
• Take sessions in workshop, manage resources and ensure security of equipment and materials.
• Daily reports on learners’ progress and barriers to learning.
• Interaction with parents/caregivers on a regular basis.
• Assist in dealing with behavioural difficulties that may occur.
• Be able to motivate, challenge and inspire students to achieve their best.
• Contribute to our core vision and values.
• Be able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Have strong subject knowledge within English and Maths.
