Job summary

Nova Training is seeking a part-time Teaching Assistant to support learners with diverse needs in Willenhall. You will assist the class teacher, help with lesson delivery and provide progress updates to parents.

The role requires engaging with students, supporting behaviour management and contributing to overall learning goals. You will work 28 hours per week, Mon-Thu, with a focus on English and Maths and collaboration with tutors.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year experience as a Teaching Assistant in an education setting.
• Relevant Qualification/training in Special Education.
• Previous experience of working with learners who have an EHCP would be beneficial.
• Excellent communication & interpersonal skills.
• Vision, innovation and passion for teaching and learning.
• Assist with planning and assessing, be creative and proactive.

Responsibilities

• Support the class teacher in preparation and delivery of lessons/interventions for the day.
• Daily reports on learners progress and barriers to learning.
• Interaction with parents/caregivers on a regular basis.
• Assist in dealing with behavioural difficulties that may occur.
• Motivate, challenge and inspire students to achieve their best.
• Contribute to our core vision and values.
• Work independently and as part of a strong, cohesive team.
• Have strong subject knowledge within English and Maths.
