Job summary

Nova Training in Willenhall is seeking a Teaching Assistant to join on a part-time, permanent basis (28 hrs/week, Mon-Thu). You will support learners with special educational needs in classroom and outdoor activities, collaborating with tutors to ensure access to high-quality education.

The ideal candidate has at least 1 year of TA experience, a Special Education qualification, and strong English/Maths knowledge, plus excellent communication. A full UK driving licence is preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year’s experience as a Teaching Assistant in an education setting.
• Qualification/training in Special Education.
• Experience with learners who have an EHCP is beneficial.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Support the class teacher in preparation and delivery of lessons/interventions.
• Daily progress reports on learners and barriers to learning.
• Interact with parents/caregivers regularly.
• Assist in managing behavioural difficulties.
• Motivate, challenge and inspire students to achieve their best.
• Work independently and as part of a cohesive team.
• Demonstrate strong subject knowledge in English and Maths.
