Job summary

EA First is recruiting for a Not-for-Profit organisation in Birmingham to appoint a part-time Senior Payroll Officer with full ownership of payroll. The role covers end-to-end processing for approximately 250 staff, including both monthly and weekly payrolls, and requires independent work with strong attention to detail.

You will manage SSP, maternity and pension calculations, liaise with HR, and ensure accurate payroll reconciliations. This onsite position may offer some hybrid arrangements.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering end-to-end payroll for a mixed permanent and casual workforce.
• Ability to work autonomously within a standalone payroll function.
• Strong knowledge of SSP, maternity pay, pensions and statutory payroll requirements.

Responsibilities

• Full ownership of the end-to-end payroll process.
• Processing monthly payroll for permanent employees and weekly payroll for casual staff.
• Ensuring payroll amendments and salary changes are reflected accurately.
• Administering pension schemes and SSP/maternity/pay calculations.
• Reconciling payroll and resolving discrepancies with HR data.
