Job summary

TeacherActive is seeking a part-time SEND Teaching Assistant to support primary pupils in Bridgwater, working Thursdays and Fridays. Salary ranges from £14.25 to £15.50 per hour with ongoing opportunities and CPD access.

You'll join a welcoming school team, helping pupils feel included and supported, and contribute to a positive learning environment while building relationships and confidence across the school week.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children with additional learning needs
• Experience with SLD/MLD or complex needs
• Kind, patient, adaptable and encouraging
• Able to drive, as the school is difficult to access by public transport

Responsibilities

• Support children with profound and complex needs, severe learning difficulties (SLD), and moderate learning difficulties (MLD)
• Provide individual and small-group support tailored to pupils' needs
• Encourage independence, communication and confidence
• Help pupils engage with learning activities
• Work closely with teachers and support staff to create a positive learning environment
• Celebrate every achievement, however small
