Job summary

Connex Education is recruiting a SEND Teaching Assistant to join a dedicated support team in Bridgwater from September 2026. The role is part-time (1–5 days per week) to support local primary schools with one-to-one, small-group and general TA duties.

Competitive daily rates (paid weekly via PAYE) and flexible hours promote work-life balance. Candidates with SEND experience, patience, and strong teamwork skills are encouraged to apply; Enhanced DBS or willingness to obtain one is required.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children or young people, especially with SEND.
• Experience with pupils with additional needs is essential.
• Patient, positive and resilient approach.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply for one.

Responsibilities

• Provide tailored support to pupils with additional learning needs.
• Deliver small-group and one-to-one interventions.
• Collaborate with teachers and the wider school team to support learning.
• Promote pupils’ confidence, independence and engagement in the classroom.
• Support pupils’ communication, emotional wellbeing and social development.
• Adapt support strategies to meet individual learning needs.
• Contribute to creating a safe, inclusive learning environment.
