Barchester Healthcare Homes Limited is seeking a qualified chef to work as a bank Second Chef, delivering hotel/restaurant standards with flexible, part-time hours. You will assist the Head Chef with nutritious, flavoursome menus tailored to residents, using fresh seasonal produce and maintaining high quality in a welcoming environment.

Qualifications

• Personable and warm approach with wellbeing of residents.
• Hold City & Guilds/NVQ/SVQ or equivalent.
• Experience leading and inspiring a team.
• Good understanding of nutrition.
• Experience working with fresh seasonal food.
• Ability to create a warm, welcoming environment within our home.
• Good understanding of HACCP.

Responsibilities

• Manage the kitchen in the Head Chefs absence.
• Assist the Head Chef in menu development.
• Work with fresh produce to deliver high quality and wholesome dishes cooked to high standards.
• Help create a warm, efficient and fun environment.
• Work within budget.
• Complete regular audits.
• Manage stock control.
• Assist in leading and motivating a team.
