Job summary

Dorset Council is hiring a part-time driver to support school transport to an adult day centre in Weymouth. The role involves transporting passengers safely between homes and the centre, with split shifts across morning and afternoon.

The ideal candidate holds a D1/D1+ licence, is physically fit to assist passengers, and is comfortable working with children or vulnerable adults. This position offers pro-rata pay and access to Dorset Council staff benefits and training.

Qualifications

• Valid D1 (101), D1, or D category driving licence.
• Experience working with children is advantageous.
• Physical fitness to assist passengers as needed.

Responsibilities

• Transport passengers between home and the adult day centre in Weymouth.
• Work approx. 5 hours per day, Monday to Friday, with split morning/afternoon shifts.
• Operate a 17-seater minibus or smaller, ensuring passenger safety.
