Job summary

Wiltshire Council is looking for Passenger Vehicle Drivers to transport students to and from school during term-time, working as casual staff with no fixed hours. The role requires a clean D1 driving licence and basic vehicle maintenance knowledge, with mandatory training provided for restraint equipment to support SEND transport.

You will ensure passenger safety, manage routes and coordinate with Passenger Assistants while delivering reliable transport for vulnerable children.

Qualifications

• Must hold a valid and clean D1 driving licence.
• Basic knowledge of vehicle maintenance would be advantageous.
• Ability to handle restraint equipment for individual clients on the vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Transport passengers between home and educational destinations as directed.
• Ensure the safety of the vehicle and passengers at all times.
• Collaborate with Passenger Assistants when present; follow training for SEND transport.
