Job summary

Carmarthenshire County Council is hiring a Catering Assistant to support the Cook in preparing nutritious meals and maintaining high food hygiene standards. You will also help with setting up and clearing tables and general cleaning duties in a busy school-style environment.

The role is 15 hours per week, term time only (38 weeks), with an annualised pay scheme to spread earnings across 52 weeks. A basic Welsh language level is required with training provided if needed.

Qualifications

• Good communication and people skills.
• Ability to build positive relationships with adults and children.
• Basic food safety knowledge; full training provided if needed.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Cook in preparing nutritious meals while following Food Hygiene and Health & Safety rules.
• Set up and clear away tables and perform general cleaning duties.
• Work 15 hours per week on a term-time basis (38 weeks), with an annualised pay arrangement.
