Job summary

St Joseph's Catholic Primary Academy in Royal Leamington Spa is seeking a reliable Caretaker to maintain a safe, welcoming environment for pupils and staff. The part-time role is 17.5 hours per week and based on site.

You will manage caretaking services across the school site, carry out minor maintenance and DIY tasks, and uphold health and safety standards while supporting safeguarding responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Experience in caretaking or facilities maintenance.
• Practical maintenance and DIY skills.
• Strong health and safety awareness.
• Ability to work under directions and follow procedures.
• Reliable with a responsible approach to duties.
• Ability to work with others and support a school environment.
• Commitment to safeguarding and welfare of children.

Responsibilities

• Ability to work under broad direction and laid down procedures.
• Responsible for managing caretaking services to all buildings forming the school site, ensuring a safe and secure environment.
• Has good practical maintenance and DIY skills.
• Responsible for undertaking minor or temporary maintenance and repairs.
• Takes pride in maintaining high standards.
• Understands the importance of health & safety.
• Contributes to the school’s statutory duty to safeguard and promote the welfare of children.
