Job summary

Shaw Education Trust invites applications for a reliable Caretaker at our Cannock area primary school. The role is permanent and part-time, focusing on maintaining a safe, clean, and well-kept environment for pupils and staff.

You will open/close the site, perform routine maintenance and basic DIY, monitor health and safety, supervise contractor works, manage security, and help prepare rooms for activities and events.

Qualifications

• Experience as a school caretaker or similar role.
• Ability to carry out routine maintenance and basic DIY tasks.
• Strong commitment to safety, cleanliness and safeguarding.

Responsibilities

• Opening and closing the school site as required.
• Carrying out routine maintenance, minor repairs and general DIY tasks.
• Ensuring the cleanliness and tidiness of the school grounds.
• Monitoring health and safety across the site and reporting issues.
• Liaising with contractors and overseeing works where necessary.
• Managing site security, including alarms and access.
• Supporting with setting up rooms and spaces for school activities and events.
