Job summary

Education Authority is recruiting a Catering Assistant for Gibson Primary School, Omagh. The role is part-time (12.50 hours/week) with a 11.30am-2.15pm pattern and a retainer during school holidays. Duties include food prep, simple cooking, serving meals, and maintaining dining areas, with adherence to relevant regulations.

The post holder will support the catering unit under supervision, contribute to a hygienic service, and promote meals to pupils and parents while working within school ethos.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Basic preparation of food and beverages.
• Simple cooking and reconstitution of prepared foods.
• Organising and controlling food service points.
• Transferring and serving meals and snacks.
• Assist with promotion of meals to pupils and parents.
• Maintain contact with central kitchen as needed.
• Prepare dining area and lay tables and serving points.
• General kitchen and dining room duties including washing up.
• Clean kitchen and dining areas and equipment.
• Record temperatures for control purposes.
• Secure premises as required.
• Complete duties in line with statutory requirements and school policies.
• Carry out administration and duties within competence.
• Promote and adhere to the school's values and ethos.
