Job summary

Silton Surgery is seeking a Practice Nurse for 19 hours per week, starting in January. The post focuses on managing long-term conditions such as hypertension, asthma, and COPD, alongside full treatment room duties. Shifts align with the current practice nurse and include cover during colleagues' annual leave.

Applicants must have current NMC registration and prior experience in a primary care setting. This role requires strong clinical skills and commitment to evidence-based practice within a GP

Qualifications

• Current NMC registration.
• Experience in primary care advantageous.
• Knowledge of managing chronic diseases (e.g., hypertension, COPD, diabetes).
• Infection prevention and control and awareness of CQC standards.

Responsibilities

• Manage chronic diseases within the primary care team.
• Carry out immunisation clinics and related admin.
• Provide cervical cytology and family planning information and advice.
• Undertake treatment room duties (dressings, sutures, ECGs, venepuncture).
• Wound management including leg ulcers and minor injuries care.
• Anticoagulation monitoring and care planned per protocols.
• Deliver health promotion and NHS health checks.
• Carry out ear syringing and maintain clinical areas and records.
• Conduct clinical audits and support recalls within practice guidelines.
