Job summary

Cobalt Consulting (UK) Ltd is recruiting for a Maintenance Operative to join a premium residential development in Walworth. The role involves day-to-day maintenance across the estate, addressing issues in apartments and communal areas, while delivering a professional service to residents.

You will carry out planned and reactive maintenance, including plumbing, carpentry, decorating, and basic electrical repairs.

Qualifications

• Solid general maintenance/handyman background.
• Experience working in occupied residential environments is preferred.
• Able to communicate clearly with residents and onsite team.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned and reactive maintenance across the estate

• Respond to maintenance requests from residents

Cobalt is working with a leading real estate brand to recruit a Maintenance Operative for a high-quality residential estate in Walworth.

This is a great opportunity for an experienced, hands-on maintenance professional who enjoys working in a residential environment and takes pride in keeping a development looking and operating at its best.

Working as part of the onsite team, you'll be responsible for the day-to-day maintenance of the estate, responding to issues across apartments and communal areas while providing a professional service to residents.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Carrying out planned and reactive maintenance across the estate
• General plumbing, carpentry, decorating and basic electrical repairs
• Responding to maintenance requests from residents
• Completing regular inspections and identifying maintenance issues
• Supporting apartment turnaround and defect works
• Maintaining communal areas and ensuring a high standard of presentation
• Liaising with and overseeing contractors where specialist works are required
• Supporting building compliance, Health & Safety and fire safety checks
• Ensuring maintenance jobs are recorded and completed within agreed timescales

We're looking for someone with a solid general maintenance / handyman background who is comfortable working within an occupied residential environment. You'll need to be approachable, reliable and confident communicating with residents as well as the wider onsite team.

Previous experience within residential property, Build to Rent, PBSA, hotels or a similar customer-facing environment would be particularly beneficial.
