Job summary

George Eliot Medical Centre, an NHS GP practice, is seeking a permanent part-time practice nurse for 21 hours per week. The role focuses on independent clinics for screening and preventive health, long-term condition reviews, vaccinations, cervical cytology and ECGs.

You will work autonomously alongside GPs and HCAs, with no weekend shifts, ensuring high-quality, patient-centred care and accurate EMIS Web documentation.

Qualifications

• NMC registration is required.
• Recent GP practice or primary care nursing experience is essential.
• Experience in long-term condition management and QOF desirable.
• Experience with childhood and baby immunisations and injections.

Responsibilities

• Run independent clinics for screening and preventive health.
• Manage long-term conditions (diabetes, hypertension, COPD, asthma) and support QOF.
• Administer vaccinations and injections; cervical cytology and ECGs as applicable.
• Maintain accurate documentation in EMIS Web and ensure infection prevention.
• Provide health promotion and lifestyle advice; participate in audits and governance.
