TPF Recruitment Ltd in Haywards Heath is assisting a friendly, growing accountancy practice to recruit a Practice Accountant. The role is part-time, 3–4 days per week, offering ownership of a client portfolio with exposure to accounts prep, tax returns, VAT, payroll and management accounts.

You will work closely with clients, helping them understand business performance while ensuring accounting and compliance requirements are met. A supportive environment welcomes a healthy work-life balance.

Qualifications

• AAT qualification.
• At least two years' experience within an accountancy practice.
• Proficient in Xero; QuickBooks desirable.
• Strong understanding of accounts preparation, tax and general practice compliance.
• Good organisational and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare limited company accounts and personal tax returns.
• Complete VAT returns and CIS submissions.
• Process client payroll.
• Prepare management accounts and keep clients informed about their business performance.
• Manage a portfolio of clients and maintain strong working relationships.

Are you an AAT qualified Accountant with previous accountancy practice experience looking for a flexible, part time opportunity?

We are working with a friendly, growing accountancy practice in Haywards Heath that is looking to recruit a Practice Accountant to join its close knit team, working 3 to 4 days per week.

This is a varied role offering responsibility for your own portfolio of clients, with exposure to accounts preparation, tax returns, VAT, payroll and management accounts. You'll work closely with clients, helping them understand their business performance while ensuring their accounting and compliance requirements are met.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare limited company accounts and personal tax returns.
• Complete VAT returns and CIS submissions.

Requirements

Ideally, you will have:

• AAT qualification.
• At least two years' experience within an accountancy practice.
• Confidence using Xero, with QuickBooks experience desirable.
• A good understanding of accounts preparation, tax and general practice compliance.
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage your own workload.
• A friendly, client focused approach and good communication skills.

You must live within a commutable distance of Haywards Heath.

• Salary: £28,000 - £38,000 FTE
• Standard office hours of 9am to 5.30pm, Monday to Friday, with flexibility around working days.
