Job summary

Alexander Lloyd Limited is seeking an experienced Accountant to join a growing accountancy practice near Crawley. The role can be full-time or part-time and offers the opportunity to work with a varied portfolio of SME clients, delivering statutory accounts, management accounts and tax returns.

You will build strong client relationships, provide day-to-day financial advice and support clients with accounting software such as Xero or Sage, in a collaborative, supportive office environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in an accountancy practice
• Experience preparing statutory accounts and tax returns
• Knowledge of corporation tax, self‑assessment and VAT
• Experience using Xero and/or Sage

Responsibilities

• Prepare year‑end accounts for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies
• Prepare and review management accounts
• Prepare corporation tax returns and computations
• Prepare self‑assessment tax returns
• Review bookkeeping and VAT returns
• Liaise with HMRC on behalf of clients

A well‑established and growing accountancy practice near Crawley is looking to appoint an experienced Accountant to join their friendly team. The position can be considered on either a full‑time or part‑time basis and offers the opportunity to work closely with a varied portfolio of SME clients.

Working within a supportive practice environment, you'll be responsible for preparing statutory accounts, management accounts and tax returns, while building strong client relationships and providing day‑to‑day financial advice.

Key Responsibilities:

• Preparing year‑end accounts for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies
• Preparing and reviewing management accounts
• Preparing corporation tax returns and computations
• Preparing self‑assessment tax returns
• Reviewing bookkeeping and VAT returns
• Liaising with HMRC on behalf of clients
• Providing financial advice and business insights
• Supporting clients with accounting software and best practice
• Building and maintaining strong client relationships

Requirements:

• Previous experience working within an accountancy practice
• Experience preparing statutory accounts and tax returns
• Knowledge of corporation tax, self‑assessment and VAT
• Experience using Xero and/or Sage
• AAT, ACA, ACCA qualified, studier or qualified by experience
• Strong communication and organisational skills
• Proactive approach and excellent attention to detail
