Job summary

Dorset Travel in Bridport is seeking a Peripatetic Passenger Assistant to support children and young people on journeys to and from home and school. The role covers regular absences and requires a flexible, caring approach, with travel across Dorset as needed.

You will work approximately 18 hours per week during term time, starting at £13.48 per hour, with morning and afternoon shifts to match school times.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of moderate and complex learning needs.
• Understanding safeguarding children.
• Recognition of a hazard and how to report it.
• Customer care.

Responsibilities

• Support children and young people to provide additional assistance in maintaining a safe environment on the journey to and from home/school.
• Cover regular Passenger Assistant absence as required.
• Be available for travel when needed and work mornings and afternoons to align with school opening/closing times.
