Job summary

Dorset Council is seeking a Regular Passenger Assistant to support children and young people with additional needs on journeys to and from home and school in the Blandford area. The role requires morning and afternoon availability to match school times and a caring, flexible approach to transport safety.

Induction training will be provided, with mandatory safeguarding, manual handling and emergency first aid training.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children with additional needs.
• Understanding of safeguarding children and reporting hazards.
• Ability to provide care on movement between home and school.

Responsibilities

• Support children and young people on journeys to/from home or school.
• Maintain a safe and caring environment during travel.
• Follow safeguarding and health and safety procedures on transport.
