Job summary

Chemify Limited in Glasgow is seeking a reliable Part‑Time Payroll Clerk to join our finance team. You will process weekly/monthly payroll up to 20 hours per week, maintain payroll records, and handle starters, leavers and deductions with strict confidentiality.

Ideal candidates have payroll experience and strong Excel skills, with good knowledge of UK PAYE requirements, accuracy, and the ability to meet deadlines in a collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a payroll or payroll administration role.
• Good knowledge of payroll processes and UK PAYE requirements.
• Excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
• Strong organisational and time-management skills.
• Good numerical and IT skills, including experience with Microsoft Excel.
• The ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• A professional and confidential approach when handling sensitive information.

Responsibilities

• Process weekly/monthly payroll accurately and within agreed deadlines.
• Maintain accurate employee payroll records and ensure all information is up to date.
• Process starters, leavers, changes to pay, overtime, deductions, holidays and other payroll adjustments.
• Calculate and process statutory payments and deductions, including PAYE and National Insurance.
• Respond to payroll queries from employees and provide a professional and helpful service.
• Reconcile payroll information and investigate any discrepancies.
• Prepare payroll reports and provide administrative support to the finance/HR team.
• Maintain confidentiality of sensitive employee and payroll information.
• Keep up to date with relevant payroll legislation and company procedures.
