Job summary

bk plus is seeking a Payroll Administrator to join our team based in central Glasgow. The role covers day-to-day payroll administration across weekly, fortnightly, four-weekly and monthly cycles, ensuring accurate submissions and timely year-end forms.

You will demonstrate up-to-date knowledge of PAYE/NIC, SMP/SAP, pensions auto-enrolment, and work with HMRC on technical queries. A minimum of two years payroll experience is required; Sage 50 experience is desirable but training will be provided.

Qualifications

• Minimum two years payroll experience.
• Sage 50 Payroll knowledge is desirable, but training will be given.
• Demonstrates up to date knowledge of current payroll legislation.
• Knowledge of CIS is desirable.
• Excellent communication skills (written and oral).
• Ability to meet tight deadlines and work under pressure.
• Demonstrates attention to detail and a high concern for accuracy.
• A good team player.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for day-to-day administration of client payrolls across multiple pay frequencies (weekly/fortnightly/four weekly and monthly).
• Ensure timely RTI submissions and process end-of-year forms P60.
• Process all types of manual payroll calculations.
• Apply knowledge of PAYE/NIC and statutory payments (SMP/SAP, SSP).
• Apply knowledge of pension schemes, including AE process and pension uploads to providers website.
• Keep up to date with new payroll legislation and compliance.
• Liaise with HMRC and assist with technical enquiries as they arise.
• Develop and maintain relationships with internal and external contacts at all levels.
• Use own initiative to resolve issues.
