Job summary

East Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust is seeking a qualified Chef to join the Rye Hospital Catering Team, with cross-site duties as required. This part-time role (15 hours/week) involves preparing, cooking and serving meals for patients and staff, including accommodating special dietary needs.

You will maintain high hygiene standards, manage stock and liaise with ward staff and delivery teams to support Rye Memorial Hospital and ESHT sites as needed.

Qualifications

• Evidence of basic standard of education.
• City & Guilds 7061/7062 or equivalent qualifications.
• Basic Food Hygiene Certificate.
• Experience in a similar role.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, cook, and serve meals for patients and staff including dietary needs.
• Order provisions and cleaning chemicals from Trust-approved suppliers.
• Liaise with ward staff, patients and delivery teams as needed.
• Maintain high hygiene standards across all kitchen areas.
