Job summary

Countess of Chester Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a part-time cook in catering to prepare and serve meals for patients, staff and visitors. You will ensure top food hygiene, manage HACCP records and support the Deputy Head of Catering in delivering high standards across three hospital sites in the Chester area.

Responsibilities include following standard recipes, training staff, ordering perishable items and maintaining stock control, while upholding safety and quality throughout all

Qualifications

• City & Guilds/NVQ equivalent required for catering roles.
• English and maths at a suitable level.
• Food safety certifications and allergen awareness expected.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, cook and serve meals to patients, staff and visitors with high hygiene.
• Maintain fridge/freezer temperatures and HACCP records.
• Follow food safety management systems and recipes to minimize waste.
• Allocate tasks to kitchen staff and assist in training.
• Check deliveries against orders and manage basic stock control.
• Assist in ordering perishable foods and dairy items.
