Job summary

National Museum of the Royal Navy in Yeovil is seeking a friendly, customer-focused Team Member for a permanent position on a two-week pattern. You will work 21.5 hours per week with additional shifts to cover leave and holidays, delivering warm service and driving sales for gifts and guides.

Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will engage visitors across galleries and café areas, promote Gift Aid, and contribute to a high-performing team in a heritage setting.

Qualifications

• Experience in a customer-facing role; retail or sales experience desirable.
• Ability to spot sales opportunities and meet/exceed targets.
• Strong communication skills and confidence engaging visitors.
• Willingness to learn Health & Safety requirements.
• Positive, proactive attitude with commitment to outstanding service.

Responsibilities

• Deliver warm, confident customer service at front of house and cafe areas.
• Actively promote Gift Aid and guidebooks; work towards weekly conversion targets.
• Earn commission on guidebook sales and contribute to income generation.
• Greet visitors, assist in shop and galleries, and ensure a welcoming experience.
