Job summary

Hillier Nurseries Ltd in Romsey is seeking a meticulous Merchandise Admin Assistant to support the Planning Manager and Buying/Merchandising teams. You will manage product data, pricing, stock movements, and reporting to enable trading decisions and smooth centre operations.

This role is part-time (22 hours) based at our Romsey Head Office. You will liaise with suppliers and internal teams, maintain data accuracy across EPOS and merchandising systems, and help with stock replenishment,

Qualifications

• Strong administrative experience within a retail or commercial environment.
• Excellent attention to detail and data accuracy.
• Confident user of Microsoft Excel and other data management tools.
• Strong organisational and time-management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Clear and professional communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate product, pricing, and supplier data within the merchandising and EPOS systems.
• Support the setup of new products, promotions, and price changes in line with commercial schedules.
• Ensure all product information is complete, consistent, and compliant with internal standards.
• Liaise with suppliers and internal teams to resolve data queries and discrepancies promptly.
• Assist with the creation and maintenance of SKU lists, range files, and product hierarchies.
• Support the Merchandise Planning Manager in monitoring stock levels, sell-through rates, and replenishment activity.
• Prepare weekly and monthly trading reports, highlighting key trends, risks, and opportunities.
• Assist in analysing sales and margin performance to inform buying and allocation decisions.
• Help coordinate stock transfers, markdowns, and clearance activity across centres.
• Maintain accurate records of stock movements and adjustments.
• Support the setup and administration of promotional events, price changes, and seasonal launches.
• Ensure promotional data is correctly loaded and communicated to centres.
• Assist in collating post-promotion performance data and learnings.
• Work closely with Buying, Retail Operations, and Finance to ensure data accuracy and alignment.
• Provide administrative support for meetings, reports, and project documentation.
• Support communication between Support Centre and garden centres regarding product and Identify opportunities to streamline administrative processes and improve data accuracy.
• Support the Merchandise Planning Manager in developing tools and templates for reporting and analysis.
• Maintain confidentiality and integrity of commercial data at all times.
