Job summary

DN Colleges Group is seeking a Lecturer - Mechanical Engineering to join our Engineering department and deliver high-quality teaching across Mechanical Engineering programmes. You will act as a Programme Tutor, supporting students academically and pastorally, monitoring progress and helping learners develop the skills needed for further study and employment.

This is a part-time role for 22.5 hours per week.

Qualifications

• Qualified in Mechanical Engineering at Level 3 or above.
• Minimum Level 2 English and Maths.
• Recognised teaching qualification or willingness to work towards Level 5 within 18 months.
• Ability to create a stimulating learning environment and motivate students.
• Commitment to safeguarding, equality, diversity and inclusion.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality teaching across Mechanical Engineering programmes.
• Act as Programme Tutor and support student progress, attendance and wellbeing.
• Develop engaging learning experiences using innovative teaching methods and learning technologies.
• Assess student work, maintain accurate records and contribute to quality assurance processes.
• Embed English and maths within teaching and learning activities.
• Monitor student behaviour and attendance, taking appropriate action where required.
• Build and maintain effective relationships with industry partners to enhance learning and progression opportunities.
• Participate in student recruitment activities, including open events and admissions activities.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues to develop, review and improve the curriculum.
