Job summary

Reach for Inclusion in Shrewsbury is seeking a part-time Maths Tutor to deliver high-quality tuition to children and young people, including those with SEND and SEMH. You will adapt teaching methods and resources to meet diverse needs and build confidence through engaging sessions.

You will plan and deliver individual and small-group lessons, monitor progress, provide regular feedback, and contribute to personalised learning plans while maintaining accurate records of attendance and attainment.

Qualifications

Strong subject knowledge and practical experience in Mathematics and Algebra.
Experience in Tutoring or Teaching, with the ability to differentiate instruction for varied learning needs.
Effective Communication skills, including the ability to build trusting relationships with young people, families, and colleagues.
Experience or training in supporting learners with SEND and SEMH needs in educational settings.
Relevant teaching or tutoring qualification (e.g., degree in Mathematics or related field, PGCE, Level 3+ teaching/tutoring qualification) is highly desirable.
Strong classroom management skills and a trauma-informed, person-centred approach to behaviour and wellbeing.
Ability to plan engaging lessons, track progress, and use data to inform teaching strategies.
Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain) and commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
