Job summary

Quantum Scholars is looking for a supportive, patient and experienced SEND Maths Tutor to provide personalised Maths tuition across Somerset. This is an in-person role, not online, with a focus on students who may have SEND and/or SEMH needs and on building confidence and progress in Maths.

The role involves delivering one-to-one or small-group tuition, adapting lessons to individual needs, and collaborating with parents and professionals while upholding safeguarding requirements.

Qualifications

• Experience teaching Maths to children or young people.
• Good understanding of the Maths curriculum.
• Experience working with SEND and/or SEMH needs.
• Ability to plan and deliver engaging, personalised Maths lessons.
• Strong communication, organisation and relationship-building skills.
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting welfare of children and young people.

Responsibilities

• Deliver one-to-one or small-group Maths tuition.
• Support students with areas of the Maths curriculum appropriate to their age and ability.
• Plan engaging, accessible, and challenging learning activities.
• Adapt teaching approaches to meet different abilities and needs.
• Identify and address gaps in mathematical knowledge.
• Monitor progress and provide feedback to students and parents.
