Rutland County Council is seeking a Stock & Reader Development Officer to shape library stock and reader offerings across the county’s four libraries. You will lead development, presentations, and engaging reader activities, working with the Library Team Leader and service colleagues.

The role requires overseeing collections, data-driven decisions, and staff guidance. DBS checks are required and a full driving licence is needed to travel across the county.

• Experience with library stock, collections or bibliographic services.
• Organised and proactive, able to coordinate work and prioritise tasks.
• Confident using computerised systems and maintaining accurate records.

Mansioni

• Oversee day-to-day management, development and presentation of library stock across Rutland's four libraries, including purchasing for allocated stock areas.
• Use stock usage, reservations and collection data to identify trends and respond to customer needs.
• Develop and coordinate reader development activity, including displays and promotions.
• Provide guidance to frontline colleagues on stock management and presentation, maintaining high standards.
• Line manage the Stock & Bibliographic Services Practitioner and support wider projects.
