Job summary

West Herts College is seeking term-time Learning Support Assistants for the Foundation Studies team. The role supports delivery of personalised learning opportunities for students with learning difficulties and/or disabilities at Watford.

You will work 21 hours per week across 34 weeks per year, on-site, with a pro rata annual salary of £12,130.35. The position is permanent and requires flexibility and teamwork to assist learners throughout College life.

Responsibilities

• Support delivery of Foundation Studies to learners with learning difficulties and/or disabilities.

• Maintain accurate records and contribute to tracking learner progress.

We are looking for term-time only Learning Support Assistants to join the Foundation Studies team, providing a wide range of programmes for students with learning difficulties and/or disabilities.

As a key part of this specialist team, the successful candidates will be helping to support the delivery of outstanding, personalised learning opportunities. We want someone who can assist learners to experience all aspects of College life.

You will need to be flexible, working well as part of a team to support the provision for learners within Foundation Studies.

The successful candidates will have an understanding and experience of working with students who have diverse special learning needs.

Working with students at Entry level, a high standard of communication and interpersonal skills is essential. This role requires a proactive professional who can work with the teaching team to remove potential barriers and support the learner assessment process.

You will work with a range of agencies and be responsible for assisting teaching staff, particularly with the preparation and monitoring of individual learning plans, Education Health & Care Plans (EHCPs) and the maintenance of accurate records.

You’ll have the full support of a dynamic team and opportunities to bring your ideas to the role. Training and development are at the heart of everything we do so you’ll be encouraged to upskill.
