Job summary

West Herts College is seeking term-time Learning Support Assistants to join the Foundation Studies team. You will work with students who have learning difficulties and/or disabilities, helping them access a wide range of programmes and College life.

You will be part of a supportive, busy team, providing preparation and monitoring of individual learning plans and EHCPs, maintaining accurate records, and assisting teaching staff to remove barriers to learning.

Qualifications

• Experience of supporting learners with learning difficulties and/or disabilities.
• Able to support learners at Entry level and assist with assessments.
• Proactive, professional and able to work with teaching staff.

Responsibilities

• Support delivery of personalised learning opportunities in Foundation Studies.

Job description

We are looking for term-time only Learning Support Assistants to join the Foundation Studies team, providing a wide range of programmes for students with learning difficulties and/or disabilities.

As a key part of this specialist team, the successful candidates will be helping to support the delivery of outstanding, personalised learning opportunities. We want someone who can assist learners to experience all aspects of College life.

You will need to be flexible, working well as part of a team to support the provision for learners within Foundation Studies.

The successful candidates will have an understanding and experience of working with students who have diverse special learning needs.

Working with students at Entry level, a high standard of communication and interpersonal skills is essential. This role requires a proactive professional who can work with the teaching team to remove potential barriers and support the learner assessment process.

You will work with a range of agencies and be responsible for assisting teaching staff, particularly with the preparation and monitoring of individual learning plans, Education Health & Care Plans (EHCPs) and the maintenance of accurate records.

You’ll have the full support of a dynamic team and opportunities to bring your ideas to the role. Training and development are at the heart of everything we do so you’ll be encouraged to upskill.
