West Herts College is seeking a part-time lecturer to join the School of Science and Public Services at the Watford campus. The role covers teaching on Science courses from BTEC Level 2 to Level 3, with potential tasks on the Extended Science Degree.

Applicants with teaching experience and a broad science background, especially Physics and Chemistry, are encouraged. You will promote English and Maths within planning and delivery, with prompt assessment and personal tutoring.

An exciting opportunity has arisen within the School of Science and Public Services for a part-time lecturer.

We are looking for a passionate person to join our forward-thinking team, teaching on our Science courses ranging from BTEC Level 2 to Level 3. There may also be opportunities to deliver on our Extended Science Degree.

Our FE provision currently includes Applied Science, Forensics and Criminal Investigation with Applied Psychology courses.

The successful candidate will join a dynamic, strong team within a department where everyone is expected to maintain their current high levels of performance.

Teaching experience and a broad science knowledge would be desirable although we are keen to hear from anyone with the right skills, in particular those with a Physics and Chemistry background. We offer a supportive culture which offers excellent CPD opportunities.

You will have an ability to promote, support and embed English and Maths skills within planning and delivery of all teaching. You should also be committed to providing prompt, detailed assessment of student work with experience of personal tutoring including target setting.

This role is part-time, working 15 hours per week at our Watford campus.

The closing date for applications is Friday 6th November 2026. The successful candidate will start from January 2027.
