Job summary

Briscoe Primary School & Nursery in Basildon is seeking a Learning Support Assistant on a fixed-term, part-time contract to support pupils with social, emotional and mental health needs.

Working days are Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday, 12 hours per week during term time, with start on 2 November 2026 and end on 18 December 2026. The Atrium supports pupils to thrive in mainstream education.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in learning/support/early years or equivalent qualification/experience.
• GCSE English and Maths at grade C or above (or equivalent).
• Experience of working with children, ideally in a school setting.
• Commitment to focusing on children's needs with patience and flexibility.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to relate to children, parents and staff.
• Team player with a passion for developing individual learning.
