Job summary

Maiden Erlegh School in Reading is seeking a Teaching Assistant to support students with diverse learning needs within a vibrant school community. You will work closely with teachers to implement lesson objectives, respond to individual SEND requirements, and help students access and engage with learning activities.

The role is part-time, term-time plus INSET days, with two full-time positions and one part-time post. Training and safeguarding commitments are provided by the Trust.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 / CACHE Level 2 in Supporting Teaching and Learning or equivalent.
• NVQ Level 2 in English and mathematics or equivalent qualification.

Responsibilities

• Work with teachers to understand lesson objectives and support needs.
• Support individual students and small groups to access learning.
• Check understanding and provide prompt-based assistance.
• Encourage participation and independent learning in lessons.
• Provide feedback to teachers to inform planning.
• Support positive behaviour and maintain a safe learning environment.
• Assist students with SEND and targeted interventions.
• Prepare learning resources and group interventions as directed.
• Collaborate with staff to promote inclusive learning.
