Job summary

Maiden Erlegh School seeks an enthusiastic teaching assistant to support students with learning needs, including SEND and behavioural support. You will work with teachers to enable access to the curriculum, promoting independence and confidence in learners of all abilities.

Two full-time positions and one 18-hour part-time role are available. The role is based at Maiden Erlegh School in Reading, with a focus on inclusive, supportive classroom environments and strong collaboration with the People

Qualifications

• NVQ2/CACHE2 in Supporting Teaching & Learning or equivalent.
• NVQ2 in English and Maths or equivalent.
• Demonstrated understanding of SEND and classroom support.

Responsibilities

• Work with teachers to understand lesson objectives and student support needs.
• Support individual students and small groups to access learning activities.
• Check understanding and provide appropriate support with prompts where required.
• Encourage participation, develop thinking skills and promote independent learning.
• Provide constructive feedback to support assessment and planning.
