Job summary

Maylandsea Primary School is seeking a learning support assistant to work during term time, 10 hours per week, 13.15–15.15, Monday to Friday. The post supports a child with ASD/ADHD, helping with learning tasks, emotional regulation, and social engagement.

You will join a caring team, follow routines, and provide calm, structured support with good numeracy and literacy skills. Interview 21st September 2026; closing date 14/09/2026.

Qualifications

• Good numeracy and literacy skills are required.
• GCSE or equivalent in English and maths is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Support in lessons and run interventions as directed by class teachers.
• Provide dedicated support for a child with ASD and ADHD, aiding emotional regulation and engagement.
• Maintain routines, boundaries, and a nurturing approach during transitions.
• Provide intimate care when required, maintaining the child’s dignity.
• Work with groups and individuals, communicating effectively and liaising with staff.
