Job summary

The King Edmund School is seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant on a part-time basis to support pupils with additional needs. The role involves working with teachers to help students access the curriculum, develop independence and social skills, and monitor progress.

You will contribute to supervision during breaks and lunchtime, attend meetings for professional development, and uphold school policies with confidentiality.

Qualifications

  • Provide targeted support to individual pupils or small groups.
  • Assist pupils in accessing the curriculum and overcoming barriers to learning.
  • Support pupils in developing independent learning and social skills.
  • Monitor and record pupil progress; provide feedback to teachers.
  • Attend meetings and training to support professional development.
  • Maintain confidentiality and follow school policies at all times.

Responsibilities

  • Provide targeted support to individual pupils or small groups as directed by the class teacher or SENDCO.
  • Assist pupils in accessing the curriculum, helping them to overcome barriers to learning.
  • Support pupils in developing independent learning and social skills.
  • Monitor and record pupil progress, providing feedback to teachers.
  • Contribute to the supervision of pupils during break and lunchtime as required.
  • Attend relevant meetings and training sessions to support professional development.
