Job summary

Middlesbrough Council is seeking an Accounts Payable Adviser to join our busy finance team on a part-time basis. You will help ensure supplier invoices are processed accurately and paid on time, supporting our financial operations.

You will work with colleagues across service areas, handle queries, reconcile accounts, and contribute to improvements in processes, with a focus on accuracy, customer service, and meeting financial timelines.

Qualifications

• Experience in a customer-focused, financial or administrative environment is essential.
• Strong written communication skills and accuracy are required.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities.
• Investigation and resolution of payment and invoice queries is expected.
• Good IT skills including MS Office and financial systems are necessary.

Responsibilities

• Process supplier invoices and ensure timeliness of payments.
• Resolve supplier queries and reconcile accounts as needed.
