Job summary

Middlesbrough Council is seeking a proactive Accounts Payable Officer to join our busy, high-performing finance team. You will help ensure suppliers are paid accurately and on time, processing invoices and resolving queries in a fast-paced environment.

You will work across the Council to maintain efficient processes, with a customer-focused approach and strong attention to detail. The role offers flexible blended working between home and our offices.

Qualifications

• Experience in a customer-focused financial/administrative environment.
• Experience working in Accounts Payable or similar finance environment.
• Confident communicating with a wide range of stakeholders.
• Good IT skills including Microsoft Office applications and financial systems.

Responsibilities

• Process invoices accurately and in accordance with procedures.
• Resolve supplier queries promptly and professionally.
• Reconcile accounts and ensure payments are made on time per timescales.
• Maintain strong supplier relationships and ensure efficient processes.
