Job summary

Croydon Council is seeking an Accounts Payable Technical Officer to join our Payments, Revenues, Benefits and Debt team. This permanent role is 36 hours per week based in Croydon.

You will validate and process supplier invoices, reconcile statements, and support Data Input Officers while upholding financial controls. Proficiency in Oracle AP, Excel and Word is essential, with a proactive, confidential approach.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in a high-volume Accounts Payable environment.
• Good knowledge of the purchase-to-pay process and financial controls.
• Proficiency in Oracle AP, Excel and Word.

Responsibilities

• Validate and process supplier invoices and payments.
• Reconcile supplier statements.
• Provide guidance to Data Input Officers and other departments.
• Conduct quality checks and produce monitoring reports.
• Support administration of Premier Supplier Programme
