Job summary

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC) seeks a Support Services Assistant to maintain a clean, safe and welcoming environment across hospital settings. The role covers cleaning, catering support, patient clothing services and porter duties at Thornliebank Health Centre.

You will follow NHS Scotland standards and schedules, contributing to high-quality service delivery across departments, with flexibility to support different areas as required.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of integrated support services across cleaning, catering, laundry and porter duties
• Training in safe use of cleaning, catering, laundry and porter equipment
• Knowledge of Health and Safety procedures (training provided)
• Knowledge of COSHH regulations (training provided)
• Knowledge of Infection Prevention and Control practices (training provided)

Responsibilities

• Carry out cleaning duties in line with NHS Scotland standards
• Operate cleaning and catering equipment safely
• Support meal service and food preparation activities
• Assist with laundry and patient clothing services
• Provide porter/mobile support including transport of patients, mail, specimens and supplies
