Job summary

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is seeking motivated Facilities Assistants (Domestic) to provide high-quality cleaning across a range of clinical and non-clinical areas within the hospital. You will be part of the Facilities Team, helping to maintain a clean, safe and welcoming environment for patients, visitors and staff.

Previous cleaning experience is welcome but not essential as full training will be provided.

Qualifications

• Basic practical skills and a willingness to learn.
• Ability to follow cleaning procedures and safe working practices.
• Good organisational skills.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Awareness of health, safety and infection prevention requirements.
• Ability to use cleaning equipment and regeneration trolleys following training.
• Understanding of the importance of maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene.

Responsibilities

• Carry out cleaning duties across ward, clinical and public areas using approved cleaning methods.
• Disposal of waste and monitoring of food and fridge temperatures.
• Prepare and serve meals using regeneration equipment and support beverage services.
• Operate dishwashers and replenish water supplies.
• Report faults and incidents; work closely with ward teams to support patient wellbeing and infection prevention.
• Follow work schedules and maintain professional appearance.
