Job summary

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is seeking motivated Facilities Assistants (Domestic) to provide high-quality cleaning across hospital areas. You will join the Facilities Team to support patient care by maintaining cleanliness, safety and a welcoming environment for patients, visitors and staff.

There are permanent, part-time roles with varied hours and shifts at Clydebank Health Centre, Dumbarton Road Community Centre, and Gartnavel General Hospital.

Qualifications

• Basic cleaning experience or willingness to learn.
• Ability to follow cleaning procedures and safety practices.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Able to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Commitment to high standards of cleanliness and hygiene.

Responsibilities

• Carry out cleaning duties across ward, clinical and public areas using approved methods.
• Follow NHS Scotland National Cleaning Standards and infection prevention procedures.
• Assist with waste disposal, equipment maintenance and replenishment of supplies.
• Support ward-based services and adapt to rotating shifts across departments.
