St. Leonard’s Primary School is seeking a dedicated Home School Link Worker to strengthen partnership between home, school and the wider community.

This newly created role focuses on developing positive relationships with families, early support, improving attendance and wellbeing, and removing barriers to learning. You will work with families, school staff and external agencies to provide timely support, carry out home visits where appropriate, signpost to services and help families access

Qualifikationen

• Experience of working with children, families, schools or community organisations.
• Ability to build positive relationships quickly and communicate effectively with a wide range of people.
• Approachable, compassionate and non‑judgemental in approach to families.
• Good understanding of attendance, safeguarding and early help processes, or willingness to learn quickly.
• Commitment to improving outcomes for children and working collaboratively with staff and external partners.

Aufgaben

• Build positive, trusting relationships with children, parents and carers.
• Promote the school's values in all interactions.
• Work with families to improve attendance and punctuality.
• Monitor attendance concerns and support families to overcome barriers.
• Provide early help and support for low‑level family concerns.
• Signpost families to appropriate services and access help.
• Carry out home visits where appropriate and in line with school procedures.
• Collaborate with school staff, safeguarding leads and external professionals.
• Work 1:1 and in small groups with identified children to remove barriers to learning and attendance.
• Organise and promote family engagement activities and events.
• Develop partnerships with community organisations and local services.
• Strengthen the school's profile and presence within the local community.
• Maintain accurate records and contribute to safeguarding, attendance and welfare processes.
