Station Street Surgery in Nuneaton is recruiting a receptionist to join the St Nicolas Medical Centre team. The role focuses on the front desk, booking appointments and handling patient calls, with duties spanning patient registrations, record maintenance and correspondence management.

The post is 18 hours per week across Monday, Thursday and Friday afternoons, with extra hours to cover leave and sickness. Prior GP surgery experience and EMIS Web proficiency are required, and you will work

Qualifications

• Experience as receptionist/administrator in a GP or NHS setting.
• Experience managing appointments and enquiries in a busy practice.
• Proficiency with NHS clinical systems and data handling.

Responsibilities

• Be the first point of contact for patients and visitors.
• Manage bookings, cancellations and amendments on the clinical system.
• Handle enquiries in person, by phone and electronically.
• Maintain accurate patient records following NHS procedures.
• Process registrations and demographic updates.
• Support clinicians with administrative tasks and urgent issues as needed.
• Ensure GDPR and data protection compliance.
• Cover colleagues during annual leave or sickness.
